President Muhammadu Buhari has told Nigerians that he will be standing down after the completion of his four years the second term in 2023.
This is to dispel rumors that were making the rounds that President Buhari may seek a tenure extension.
Fears heightened when the senate President Ahmed Lawan publicly defend ed the peaceful relationship existing between the executive and the legislature by saying that the Senate will approve anything brought by Buhari because he has the interest of Nigerians at heart.
The comment created suspicion of the third term rumors to the extent that people began to think that the third term agenda by easily scale through if the senate is a rubber-stamp legislature
