It may be hard to believe, but several famous Nigerians who were born in 1919, 1920’s and 1930’s are still alive today. All these men and women on this list are now retired but they achieved so much success in their heydays.

1. Charles Olumo
On February 19, 2021, veteran Yoruba actor Charles Olumo, also known as Agbako, turned 96, and was celebrated by actress Foluke Daramola.

2. Blessing Akporode Clark
Blessing Akporode Clark is best known for his time as Nigeria’s permanent delegate to the United Nations in New York. He was born on April 16, 1930, and is still going strong at the age of 91.
3.Solomon Adeniyi Balalola
Rev Dr. Solomon Adeniyi Balalola is a retired Nigerian Baptist pastor. He was born on the 20th of April 1929 and currently 92 years old.
4. Mabel Segun
Mabel Segun, a Nigerian poet, playwright, and author of short stories and children’s books, was born in 1930 and is still alive. She’s currently 91 years old.
5. Saliu Adetunji
Saliu Adetunji, who was born on August 26, 1928 and is now 92 years old, is the 41st Olubadan of Ibadan, having been crowned on March 4, 2016.
6. Abayomi Adebayo Barber
Abayomi Adebayo Barber, a Nigerian contemporary artist and mentor of the Abayomi Barber Art School, was born on October 23, 1928, and is still alive and well. He will be 93 years old this year.
7. Chief Edwin Clark
Between 1966 and 1975, Chief Edwin Clark served as a Nigerian nationalist, Ijaw chief, and politician in the administrations of Military Governor Samuel Ogbemudia and Head of State General Yakubu Gowon. He was born on the 25th of May, 1927, and is now 94 years old.
8. Afe Babalola
Afe Babalola is a Nigerian lawyer and founder of Afe Babalola University. He was born on the 30th of October 1929. He is now 93 years old and still going strong.
9. Rosina Umelo
Rosina Umelo is a writer best known for her short stories, children’s books, and young adult literature. She is well-known for her works such as The House in the Forest and Surviving Biafra.

10. Chief Akintola Williams
Chief Akintola Williams is s Nigerian legendary accountant. He was Africa’s first chartered accountant. Akintola Williams was born on August 9, 1919, a year after World War I ended. He Is currently 101 years old. See more of his pictures below:
